OUR LOGO
Ours is more than a logo; it is part of the fabric of who we are and why we formed MountainsCall. To understand this, one must understand the story of its development. After we experienced a particularly challenging day attempting to use online tools to develop a logo, Ryan Hughes, Melissa's son, asked his Mom what was frustrating her. Melissa casually mentioned challenges we had experienced designing a logo. Ryan quietly disappeared to his room, returning an hour or so later with the sketched logo appearing below, along with the creative tagline - "we will get you to the top". Ryan is 11 years old. Think about that. We say "Climbers Wanted". Ryan is a Climber and he inspires us!
But the story doesn't end there. Seeking to live our purpose of "giving back" and "paying it forward", we began to contact graphic designers who would be willing, for a fee, to work from Ryan's initial design and create from it a professional logo. After a couple of calls, we reached out to Holly Pelton, of Pelton Graphics (https://hollypelton.com/), to ask for a quote. We had worked with Holly many years earlier in a different start-up business. Imagine our surprise when Holly, upon hearing the story about Ryan's work, told us - "I will design a logo but I won't accept a dime. Your company was good to me when I started out and this will be an honor to do. All I ask is to meet Ryan". Think about that. Holly is a Climber and she inspires us!
This led to an extraordinary collaboration - between an accomplished professional graphic designer, with years of experience, and an 11-year old middle-schooler. Draft designs were created. Video conferences held - all including Ryan and even his older sister, Gina. Holly showed them how the design process worked. How the software worked. Ryan and Gina discussed their class work where they use software to create designs. Holly took the time. She answered their questions. She explained things to them in understandable terms. She paid it forward; she respected and inspired them. Ryan called the shots. He picked the final version of the logo (also below), and we couldn't be happier!
MountainsCall Consulting is proud to present its logo - a special collaboration of Pelton Graphics/Holly Pelton, and an 11-year-old young man named Ryan Hughes - who has an extraordinarily bright future in whatever calls him. Our logo embodies the spirit of our firm. It is the result of creativity, compassion and paying it forward. Climbers Wanted. Climbers Found.
